On 6 July, a LocalLLaMA user reported receiving an Ascent GX10 two days earlier and running REAP-pruned NVFP4 DeepSeek-V4-Flash on a single Spark. The user said performance stayed consistent at long context. By 20 October, another LocalLLaMA user had bought four Intel B65 units because benchmarks were scarce and published long-context sweeps for Flash-Next and other models.
The testing discussion covers native and non-native NVFP4 on Blackwell; FastDMS achieving 6.4X KV-cache compression and running faster than vLLM BF16/FP8; and Qwen3.6-27B with MTP reaching 2.5x throughput through an unmerged llama.cpp pull request. Dev.to also reported that DeepSeek open-sourced the engine behind its API without a KV cache system. It separately covered TurboQuant testing on an M5 Max MacBook Pro.
Assuming the reports are factual, impact is 20%. Local-model users and prospective hardware buyers gain scarce performance evidence for long-context workloads. Developers get additional configurations to compare across NVFP4, KV-cache compression and MTP inference. These individual tests do not use a common benchmark suite. They can inform purchasing and optimisation decisions, but the evidence is insufficient to settle them. Hardware benchmarking remains a hobby where four processors can be easier to find than four comparable charts.
Watch for reproducible configurations, raw results and independent runs on the Ascent GX10, Intel B65 and M5 Max. Direct comparisons using the same models, context lengths and inference software would materially change the picture.
